Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is the analysis and design of workflows and processes within an organization. A business process is a set of logically related tasks performed to achieve a defined business outcome.

Our BPR team recognizes that an organization's business processes are usually fragmented into sub-processes and tasks, which are carried out by several specialized functional areas within the organization. In many cases, one person is not responsible for the overall performance of the entire process. Our Reengineering team maintains that optimizing the performance of sub-processes can result in some benefits but cannot yield dramatic improvements if the process itself is fundamentally inefficient and outmoded. For that reason, we keep our reengineering focus on Redesigning the process as a whole in order to achieve the greatest possible benefits to the organization and their customers. A key motivation for us for reengineering has been the continuing development and deployment of sophisticated information systems and networks.

In today's corporate world, Information technology (IT) has plays a crucial role in the reengineering concept. And so we at CISPL consider Information Technology as a major enabler for new forms of working and collaborating within an organization and across organizational borders. The role of IT in Reengineering is not just to automate the business process but facilitate changes in a structured manner. We strongly feel the application of IT to BPR requires out-of-the-box thinking, which is the ability to first recognize powerful/innovative solution and then concentrate on the problems that it might solve if implemented successfully. We are of the belief that BPR must be followed by strategic planning of the business, which addresses leveraging IT as a competitive tool and the IT group of the company should be considered as an integral part of the reengineering team from the beginning.
